If there’s one thing we like almost as much a great craft beer, it’s matching that beer with some awesome food. So far we’ve dipped our toes in the water with food & beer pairings by putting on our beer & marshmallow event along with Nugget & Mallow, which went went down a treat. But we decided it was about time we teamed up with some more great businesses for the benefit of your tastebuds this September.

Beer & Cheese Pairing with Celt Brewery
9th September : 7:30pm

First Welsh Meet the Brewer? Check!

First cheese based event in the shop? Check!

Fantastic beer and cheese on offer? Double check!

For one week, The Celt Experience will be in London from Caerphilly, and they’re coming to We Brought Beer! Having been around in various guises since 2005, Celt have had plenty of time to get their recipes right. Whether it’s the yearly collaboration with the French brewery, Saint-Germain, to celebrate 600-ish years of Welsh independence, their Silures session IPA or the house lager, their beers are always of the highest quality.

But Wales is not just good at drinking beer. No, they make some pretty interesting cheese too and Celt have decided to bring with them some of the best cheese that Wales has to offer. Cheese and wine may be the more traditional combination, but on September 9th Celt will show us that beer is just as good a match.

If all that sounds appealing to you, then email hello@webroughtbeer.co.uk for your place on the guest list! This is a free event but be quick as it is first-come, first-serve and is filling up quickly.

Beer & Wings Pairing with Brickwood
17th September : 7.30pm & 9.30pm

We’re really excited to be working with our Hildreth Street neighbours Brickwood Coffee & Bread on this one.

Seven courses, designed by Brickwood head chef Jeremy Cuevas, will be paired with seven different craft beers, each chosen by us to pair perfectly with the food on offer. The menu is as follows:

  • Chicken Wing Ramen Soup
  • Tamarind Wings
  • Thai Wings and Pickle
  • Smoked BBQ Wings + Slaw
  • Beer Glazed Wings + Hash
  • Buffalo Wings w/Stilton
  • Pecan Pie w/Bourbon Cream
  • Craft beers = awesome, paired.

Brickwood will be hosting the event (as they’re a bit better setup than us) and tickets cost just £29.50 per person.

You can purchase tickets online here or over the counter in either We Brought Beer or Brickwood.
